News For the Week of September 23, 2014

The weather has been on a roller coaster this past week, which is normal weather for September in this part of the country. Chilly in the mornings and then turn on all the fans or air conditioner in the afternoons, then chilly again in the evening.

Scott and Julie Lawson took Garrett to Silver Dollar City over the weekend and Garrett reported he had a really really good time. Except for the Lost River. Mommy reported after he got drenched on that ride he was furious and wanted new clothes. He was happy to ride the train and Fire in the Hole and rode the elephant ride, in a red elephant. Sounded fun. I saw on facebook that several more people had gone over the weekend also. Bub and Kayla Blair and Noah made the trip and also Dustin and Chi-Anna Johnson with daughters, Brenley and Avery. Looks like everyone had a good time. Julie said they also saw Donnie and Robyn Whittaker and Sarah, Scott and Bailey Whittaker and their kids while they were there.

Volleyball will be the Mark Twain Conference Tournament this week on Saturday, September 27, at New Covenant High School in Springfield. The Jr. High girl's basketball team will be in a tournament all week at Bradleyville. Call the school for the times. The Jr. High boys and girls both will play basketball at Taneyville on Tuesday, September 30.
