The weather these past few
days has been so nice to finish Christmas shopping compared to last
year's snow and ice and whatever combination dropped out of the sky.
I am finishing my shopping but also just starting. I am a world class
procrastinator and although I know I have to get it done I still put
it off until the last minute it seems.
The Christmas program at
New Mansion Church last Sunday night was very well attended. Bob and
I certainly enjoyed watching all the three year old and younger
participants as they enjoyed being in the program. Of course it was
extremely difficult for them to stay in the place they were supposed
to be in and that is what was so enjoyable to watch. It reminded me
of a song I used to hear on the radio by Squire Parsons about
Christmas in a little country church. It sure fits.
Last Thursday the students
of Bradleyville, Plainview, Taneyville and Mark Twain Schools
gathered in the gym of Bradleyville School and were provided new
shoes from the Slusher Foundation. It looked like a very exciting
time in the pictures I saw.
The last ballgame this
year before Christmas break will be with Sparta, at Bradleyville on
Thursday, December 18, starting at 5:00 in the afternoon. Both the
girls and boys will play. The teams won't play again until after
school starts back up in January.
Birthdays for the coming
week include: December 17: Marge Combs, Sierra Rentfro; December 18:
Donna Newman, Katie Reece, Kenyon Whittaker; December 19: Alva
Johnson, Kenneth Sims, Maxine Mason; December 20: Jessi Laughlin,
Melissa McCleary, Jarell Yeary; December 24: Dakota Isaacs, Pauline
Lee, Kim Pollard.
Anniversaries for the
coming week include: December 19: Bob and Sue Birdsong, Kenton and
Linda Wiggins; December 23: Mike and Vicky Blair; December 24: Bob
